1815年，凱隆世家酒莊（Calon Segur）的主人杜木蘭（E.T.Dumoulin），看上了靠近吉倫特河邊未被開墾的小山丘。這個小山丘底基是富含鐵質的黏土及石灰岩，遍布礫石，顯得非常貧瘠。這片土地長滿了紫紅色的石楠花、金盞花及荊棘，到了花開時節，山坡呈現一片粉紅色，像極了玫瑰花田園。夢玫瑰酒莊（Chateau Montrose）就誕生在這片粉紅色的土地上，其外文名「Montrose」中的
隨著Montrose穩定及高水準的量，若非酒莊的發展起步較晚，否則絕對具備一級酒莊的實力，有數個年份甚至超過五大酒莊，遠超過其他二級酒莊。
Château Montrose is a well-regarded and critically much-lauded wine estate based in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux's northern Médoc region. The estate was ranked as a second growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, and is regarded as one of the very best properties at that level.
Ａ beautiful, precise and pure fruity notes, which is characteristic of this vintage. The nose is complex and expresses notes of black fruits (cassis, plum, blackberry) associated with some sweet spices and hints of oak. The palate is delicate, fine, complex, fresh and well balanced. It expresses notes of blackcurrant and plum related but much more subtle with notes of strawberries. The tannins are fine and well done. Good precision in the work of tannins. Presence of a small saline notes in the finish but it should disappear with time (it happens regularly on futures wines so young and unfinished). Beautiful persistent in mouth.
